Used milk cartons
Milk that is passed its sell by date goes back to the supplier. He sells the milk for animal food. The empty cartons go to landfill. This is expensive but inevitable. Milk cartons are made of board with two sides coating with polyethylene.
CVB EcoLogistics found a money saving solution. One of our contacts is a paper mill who separates paper and plastic: paper fibre for the production of paper, polyethylene to the plastic industry.

Wooden pallets
To put wooden pallets into landfill after use, is expensive. CVB EcoLogistics separated the volume of waste pallets in 3 streams:
1. Useful pallets for reuse
2. Useful pallets but with wrong specifications
3. Pallets only useful for the wood fibre industry
Finally a structural outlet has been found. So far free of charge. It is an important cost saving project for our supplier.

Paper cores with wooden support
Paper is supplied on reels with a cardboard core. In some cases this core is supported with a wooden disc. One of our customers, a printing company, is using so many reels that he had to landfill every year 30 tons of wooden discs.
Up to the moment that CVB EcoLogistics B.V. informed him that the supplier of the reels might be interested to take the discs back for reuse. This was indeed the case. The outcome was the elimination of landfill costs and an important contribution to the environment.

Laminate of polyethylene and polypropylene
End reels, misprints and shavings were the high volume of waste of a producer of plastic packaging for the food industry. It concerned laminate: a film of polyethylene and a film of polypropylene melted together. This is useless as raw material for the plastic industry.
We were able to sell the end reels to be transformed into insulation as a filler for wrapping purposes. The sheets and shavings go to incineration for the production of energy (waste to energy).
