History

CVB EcoLogistics found its roots in Heijnen Papierhandel b.v., which started its activity in 1958. In that year Cees Heijnen began to collect, sort and process waste paper as raw material for the paper industry. In this way he found a solution for the waste problems of a number of printing companies and box manufacturers. They were looking for outlets for their paper and cardboard waste. The mission succeeded.

Acquisitions

After Cees Heijnen's retirement his son Fon took over the company. In 1993 he sold 50% of his shares to a third party. In the years thereafter a number of acquisitions were realised, which resulted in a group of six depots in the Benelux (three in Holland and three in Belgium.)

Since the co operation with the French group Soulier, a Veolia Environment company, was ended in 1999, the Heijnen Group became completely independent again.

Now all shares are in hands of Cees van Berkel who changed the name to CVB EcoLogistics B.V. Growth is continuing with the most recent acquisition of Sanglier S.A. in Charleroi, Belgium, bringing the number of depots to 10 in total. Five sales offices in Asia were opened since 2003 in India, Indonesia, Thailand and China (2).

Activities

In the meantime CVB EcoLogistics has expanded its activities. Besides waste (recovered) paper, the company takes in also plastics, wood and other waste products for recycling. These are offered through a large number of partners in supply.

Collection and processing as well as marketing waste (recovered) paper remains the core activity. In 2006 CVB EcoLogistics has reached a sales volume of 600.000 tons.

We supply to paper mills on all continents of the world.

The structure of the company is as shown in this hierarchical chart (click on the image to download the PDF of the hierarchical chart).
